Reflecting on history and planning for a brighter future! Today, we explored the Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg, diving deep into the injustices of the past and the powerful efforts toward reconciliation. This, is an effort to strengthen the #Ethiopian #TJ process.




Had an insightful session with South Africa’s National Prosecuting Authority (NPA). Deeply focusing on prosecutorial independence, asset recovery, and missing persons cases. These learnings offer valuable perspectives to strengthen Ethiopia’s #TransitionalJustice efforts.




Today, we explored South Africa’s TJ process with experts like Dumisa Ntsebeza & Howard Varney. Discussions covered truth-seeking, accountability, reparations & victim engagement. Inspiring insights for Ethiopia’s justice journey!
These kinds of initiatives are immensely valuable, as they foster meaningful engagement, encourage the exchange of insightful perspectives, and hold the potential to drive impactful and enduring outcomes.
Today, we visited the historic Old Women’s Jail and the Constitutional Hill to engage in a thought-provoking discussion with former TRC Commissioners, hosted by the Foundation for Human Rights. Gaining invaluable insights into truth-seeking, accountability, and victim engagement.
A study tour on #TransitionalJustice (TJ), led by @MinistryOfJustice, @AFSC, & @ISS, is underway in Johannesburg and Pretoria, South Africa (March 16-20, 2025). After arriving yesterday, we began today, with a visit to the Women’s Jail at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg.

I was privileged to be part of the historic gathering of vibrant youth from over 30 African countries gathered by @AYLDC 2025 in Addis Ababa uniting over 300+ young leaders to discuss leadership, diplomacy & innovation. @afsc_org made a substantive contribution to its holding.




Honored to join @MOJEthiopia & @PaulSimonHandy, #InstituteforSecurityStudies, @ISSAfrica for a key conference on drafting #TransitionalJustice laws in #Ethiopia. Engaging with experts & stakeholders to align legislation with national needs & global standards for justice.




I was elated to join the @AFSC @SalamaHub training by @HowardAsociates on #DigitalLiteracy for @peacebuilding. It equipped #HoA #CSOs, mostly women, with tools to combat misinformation, enhance secure communication, and promote inclusion.




It was an immense pleasure for me to attend the International Interreligious Conference organized by @MoP_Ethiopia with the #MohammedBinZayedUniversityforHumanityintheUAE. The event was inaugurated by the Ethiopian President & an MOU was signed. Congrats to Ethiopian gov't & Mop
