Excited to share that in our recent HogWatch survey in Kingston we found a nationally Critically Endangered pine marten (Martes martes). This is the first record of the species in over a century in London! @ElliotNewton90 @ZSLScience @RBKingston @hedgehogsociety @OfficialZSL
Remember the spine our team found last year in a footprint tunnel? Well, we finally got around to extract DNA from it and the suspense is over! We have beautiful 'spine' shaped DNA bands 😅 on the PCR product. Though not your typical band shape, there's no doubt we have 🦔🧬!
If you can take 5 mins to complete my MSc students survey on opinions of Red and Grey squirrels, I'd be very grateful. Even more so if you would retweet. Thanks redandgrey.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/red-versus-gre… .@AcademicChatter
Surprisingly little is known about the Malayan colugo, or 'flying lemur', but one naturalist is hoping to change that. @BBC_Future finds out more... bbc.com/travel/article…
Today, one of @cardiffuni visiting #hedgehogs left one of its spines in a footprint tunnel for our surveying team to find! Safely stored now @MolEcolCU lab for future genetic analysis 🥼🧪🧬. @HogFriendly @CharlotteT916 @hartlandchloe1 @MeganHooker17 @MikeBruford
Another successful morning! All 10 tunnels had hog prints in and we found a hedgehog spine! 😍🎉🦔@HogFriendly @CharlotteT916 @CUHedgehogs

Great article highlighting the need for natural forest in the monitor lizard habitat despite their adaptations to the anthropogenic environment!
In a sea of oil palms, even monitor lizards need islands of natural forest bit.ly/3FBzPZt

🧵 🧵🧵🧵 If you’re reading about Afghanistan and feeling sick and helpless about the unimaginable situation people there are facing, now would be a good moment to donate to a refugee-supporting charity. I’m putting together some links. Take your pick. Give what your can.
Today on the @CUBiosciences Marine Ecology Field Course, we will be mostly trying to avoid conflict with… #CUMarineEcology #BarryIsland
