@CharlieFerris
Postdoctoral researcher in the Sheldon Memory Lab at McGill University. I study the neural correlates of episodic memory encoding and retrieval.
Excited that our article comparing the neural correlates of overtly narrated and silent autobiographical memory retrieval is available now in Neuropsychologia! sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
We’re so proud of our lab members who presented their research at CCBBI research day today! Special shoutout to Kelly and Lauren for winning best oral presentation and best poster!
🥳Our in-depth investigation of the adult VWFA is now published! Read here:doi.org/10.1016/j.isci…
New preprint! tinyurl.com/mrx2pc2x. Despite decades of research, the nature of VWFA remains under debate. Is VWFA dedicated to visual word & distinct from other high-level visual regions? Is it even visual?! Or is it part of amodal language or attention networks? 🧵1/8

I'm recruiting grad students for Fall '25 at @PBSamherst! You can read about the lab at auletlab.com and find my contact info there. I'm reviewing apps through the cog and dev areas, as well as through the Neuro PhD. Reach out if you're interested / have any questions!
You will often hear us neuroscientists say that our brains are PLASTIC. We meant that as a metaphor. But now apparently it is *literally* true as well. 😬
Just sounding off for @HansenHeatherA psychologytoday.com/intl/blog/nois…
Also! I'll be recruiting students and staff for my new lab. If you are interested in exploring *cognitive* development using *computational* and *neuroscience* methods (CCN if you will), then come chat with me x.com/vayzenberg90/s…
Super excited to announce that I'll be joining @TempleUniv as an assistant professor of Psychology and Neuroscience! The Vision Learning and Development Lab will officially open its doors in Summer 2025! vlad-lab.com
Excited to be back at @CogCompNeuro! Check out my poster with @LourencoLab on Friday at 11 AM (C5): Fast and robust visual recognition in young children We explore the upper-limits of children's recognition abilities and benchmark them against a range of DNNs #CCN2024
I often talk about how important I think it is to end Reimbursement culture and it’s obvious that some people don’t understand how transformative that could be in graduate education and retention of UR individuals. So, let’s talk: (1/n)
Get ready to explore robotics with RoboLaunch! 🚀Our next speaker is Assistant Professor Sylvia Herbert from UC San Diego. 🎉 Tune in this Wednesday 6/26/24, 11:00 AM EDT and join this conversation on our YouTube channel ⏩ Explore Robotics: Education, Research, & Careers.
Now available at: Aging, Neuropsychology, and Cognition 🥳 with the amazing @emilyydaavis @Sarah_e_h_ @karampbell & @sheldonmemory : tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.108…
Shift happens: Aging alters the content but not the organization of memory for complex events osf.io/ks7b6/
Out now @JOCN_Journal led by Twitterless (X-less?) Lauri Gurguryan, Nguyet Ngo and @sheldonmemory . We show that distinct content-oriented cortical systems work with the content agnostic anterior hippocampus to construct autobiographical memories direct.mit.edu/jocn/article-a…
Congratulations to our former graduate student, @HansenHeatherA on the publication of her paper "The effect of misophonia on cognitive and social judgments"! Check her out below: journals.plos.org/plosone/articl…
Happy to see this out: learnmem.cshlp.org/content/31/4/a… w/ @sheldonmemory where we show that memory for our imaginations are affected by extant event schemas 🧩🤔 a sequel to tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…
Brains undergo structural and functional changes with aging. What's the relationship between them? PhD candidate Jamie Snytte and Prof. Nathan Spreng find that functional changes linked to memory is related to the structural integrity of the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex.
Super proud to have designed this study as an extension of my dissertation work. The wonderful and brilliant @CharlieFerris really brought these ideas to life and worked through a ton of new challenges to publish this work. Bravo and thank you Charlie! sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Next up, Dr. @HansenHeatherA will share additional insights we've gained in our understanding of the brain & #misophonia. Learn more & join us here: soquiet.org/care #CAREforMisophonia
Grateful to have advisors who care about me personally as well as professionally — thanks for dressing up in fancy outfits with me twice this semester @z_saygin and @leberandy! ◡̈
