Of course, there is something that is true of both your boss and other people's kids that is not true of your own kids, namely that the latter are your kids.

Not that it really matters with a three-way race, but the Cuomo argument is that his voters just didn't turn out in the primary, and he'd win the general; the Mamdani argument is that Cuomo's voters didn't turn out in the primary, and won't in the general either.
Final, certified results in the mayoral primary. 1,071,730 people voted, which is about 32% of all 3.3 million registered New York City Democrats. Mamdani beat Cuomo 56-44.
