A campaign to promote the inclusion of specialist toilet facilities for people with disabilities, say the lack of suitable toilets is restrictive and unfair. @ChangingPlacesI say right now, there are only 25 in the country, while the UK have over 3,000. @ElleLenn reports.

Following on from yesterday’s post re Randles hotel in Killarney. We wondered who might be the first hotel to install a changing places toilet. This would mean you would cater for everyone & open up your hotel to visitors of all abilities. Pls contact us a changingplaces.ie
We were delighted to recently learn that Randles Hotel in Killarney, County Kerry are the first hotel in Ireland to install a ceiling track hoist for people with disabilities, this will allow people to go who need a hoist to support them to transfer from chair to bed/ bathroom.

We’re updating records on toilet facilities that have been registered pre current building standards. @IKEAIE have kindly updated us re their facility located on the first floor entrance beside main toilets at their D11 branch. Pls ask a member of staff to access. #incLOOsion
Autism awareness month. Some people with Autism need to use a changing places toilet. We need to promote awareness of the need for changing places toilets in public places all over Ireland. Most hospitals don’t even have them. Changingplaces.ie #AutismAwareness
There is huge discrimination in Ireland against people with disabilities, intellectual & physical, in healthcare, education, employment, housing, advocacy, in every way possible. Access, transport, toileting, parking spaces, disability allowance & indirectly carer’s allowance.
