Conservative Critique of Liberal Obligations The Post-Liberal Turn and The Future of Conservatism Intellectual Conservatism: From Burke to Scruton A posztliberális fordulat és a konzervativizmus jövője
Some news - and for me, at least, it’s exciting news! I’ve finally finished the draft manuscript of the book I’ve been working on about the methods of choosing, and removing, Conservative leaders. It should be out in about 6 months with @agendapub.
I very pleased to to have contributed a chapter to this volume on Thatcher edited by @LordNortonLouth and Matt Beech (@CBPhull).

I'm delighted by the imminence of this volume, in which I have an essay—The Art of Margaret Thatcher—which examines not only her own relationship with the arts, but also her personal artistry in the creation of a political character (drawing on Stanislavski). It's fascinating.

Lots of people have been asking me about @PoliticsatHull's new course, Political Thought of the Right. Here's a #thread on what it covers, and how it's taught. (1/14)

As well as an advisor to Charlemagne, Alcuin was a genius. He expanded the curriculum to take in more classical texts, spread English pedagogy, and developed Carolingian minuscule script. His family was probably from near Hull. @UniOfHull
May 20: Feast of Alcuin (Ealhwine) (†804), scholar and theologian. He was born in Northumbria and educated at the cathedral school in York. In 781 he met Charlemagne, who he became a key advisor to. In 796 he became abbot of St Martin at Tours. Alcuin, centre, depicted c.831
