Federal Member for Ballarat. Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government. Authorised by Catherine King, ALP, Ballarat.
Parliament has returned, and for the first time, 56% of Labor MPs are women.
This time next week, Parliament will return. The first thing on our agenda: cutting the HECS debts of thousands of Australians.
I welcome the decision by the Federal Court to agree to extend the convening period for the voluntary administration of Rex. This will provide additional time for the administrators to finalise the ongoing sale process and maximise the prospect of landing a commercial outcome.

Day one with our new ministerial team sworn in and ready to serve. We're ready to build Australia's future.
Pleased to share I will be reappointed Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Regional Development and Local Government in the new Albanese Cabinet. Lots of good and important work to get on with as we continue to build Australia’s future.

Thank you Ballarat! It's an incredible privilege to be returned as your MP, and I'm looking forward to serving you in a majority Labor Government!

The backflips keep coming. Which of his dangerous thought bubble policies will be left come election day?

Great to pop in and visit ABC Ballarat at Cafe 1816, ahead of another full day at pre-poll. Our local media are doing such a wonderful job, covering the race and the big issues that matter to residents in Ballarat – we're so lucky to have them!

How out of touch is this. We won’t dismiss the concerns of young people or the third of Aussies who rent. We’ll help them buy a house with 1.2 million new homes, 100,000 reserved for first home buyers and 5% deposits.

Last night Peter Dutton said you could find 12 eggs for $4 – and now he says it's you, the voters, who are out of touch. Labor listens to voters. Labor cares, and works hard to deliver outcomes for all Australians. The Liberals just get angry when things don't go their way.

It's wet, it's miserable – but spirits are high at pre-poll as we begin the final week of the campaign!

I just finished watching the final leaders debate, here's what I thought.

I just finished watching the third leaders debate. Here's what I thought.

It is 8:30 Tuesday, so pre-poll has opened! I'll see you out there.
