Wife: "I love all these black guys zooming around." Me: "Huh?!?" Wife: "I love all these black-eyed Susans around." Me: "Oh."
Progress pics from the food trailer my son is building. He has it all framed out and will tackle wiring next. Someone told the kids you can just do things.

This and never unmuting myself on a Teams meeting just to say "nothing from me" again.

Going topless makes even a trip to Costco into an adventure.

People will post something like "I crave the simple life" with a picture of an elaborate spread like this. You never heard of a sandwich?

Everyone wants to live on a farm. No one wants to save a dying mill town.

We had at least one rainstorm that made the old RV cover I used leak, so last night the chicken tractor got metal roofing and sides, which I finished just in time for it to downpour. Also added handles to make moving it easier.
Wiring took two of us most of the day. The chickens are not sure about summer camp, but do seem to be enjoying the extra space.
Inspired by my recent acquisitions of Foxfire and The Salt Book my wife got me a first printing of Back To Basics for my birthday.
The old ways are not totally gone. You can buy the Foxfire books for the cost of a night out, and the joy will last a lot longer.

Castle in the Clouds, New Hampshire.
just remembered that americans don’t have random old castles in the countryside that they can go and visit
Every small town has someone on the make. Who has a plan in the works at all times and it is never to get a job. Perpetual students avoiding responsibility or gathering of bored wives doing MLM. But the ones you really have to watch out for want partners for their business idea.

Mid-July makes me think about the summer I turned 19 working on a crew spraying ditches on country roads up to 100 hours a week and every little northern Iowa town looked just like this.

"I am spiritual but not religious." So is a demon. Go to church.

I received an unexpected birthday gift from @LyndaLeeD who made this wall quilt for me after seeing a picture of my church.
Go to church. For the culture.
Talking to you all on X is cool but what if we just sat up here in silence for 3 hours?
