The task before us in this moment as Christians is to call each other to live with authenticity, as authentic persons, rejecting language or activity that demonizes and degrades the dignity of others, that pretends that some persons are unworthy to be connected to us.

On this blessed feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, may she watch over and protect our Carmelite brothers and sisters with her tender care. Let us entrust ourselves to her guidance and give thanks for the spiritual heritage she inspires in the Carmelite family.
