Today in 1932, the St. Lawrence Seaway Treaty was signed by Canada & the U.S.. Construction of the deep waterway connected the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean. Today, cargo moving on the waterway is worth US$50.9 billion in economic activity and supports over 356k jobs.
