It was widely publicised that the UVF mural at Mount Vernon would be repaired and repainted after it was damaged in a storm. Why wasn't this process prevented if the PSNI are in the business of preventing any military themed murals being unveiled?

In Northern Ireland, our veterans were held to the highest standard of law. The IRA were not. They tortured and killed men, women, and children alike. Labourโs plan to scrap the Legacy Act betrays our veterans. My question on this at today's PMQs.
Plenty of people were tarred and feathered for less than this. Have we really gotten to the stage where the enemy can stand comfortably at the spot where our Republic was born?
