Hurricane season is officially here 🌀 Our agency is focused on staying ready and you should be too. Know if your home is in an evacuation zone. Here’s a message from State Emergency Management Director William Turner.
As we enter the peak of summer ☀️ and you enjoy the weather, be sure to practice good heat safety wherever you are ➡️Stay hydrated & take breaks when spending prolonged time outside ➡️Check in on loved ones & other at-risk populations ➡️Know the signs of heat-related illnesses

A flash flood warning has been issued for parts of the state into this evening. Please be weather aware and stay alert. Listen to local officials and avoided flooded roadways if you come across any. Remember, turn around - don’t drown! 🚗🌊
Flash Flood Warning continues for Hartford CT, New Britain CT and West Hartford CT until 6:00 PM EDT
A Flood Watch is in effect for central and western CT. Heavy rainfall rates could bring flash flooding to parts of the state. Some thunderstorms are capable of producing a quick 2-4 inches of rainfall.

⚠️Flood Watches have been issued for the entire state, beginning at 2:00 today and continuing into early Wednesday morning. Severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall is possible. A heat advisory is also in effect so be alert today, monitor local alerts, stay cool and be prepared!
🚨Be weather aware as strong storms roll through the State. Be aware of downed trees and wires, and always remember if you come across standing water, turn around - don’t drown! 🚗🌊
