Wondering if all the green boxes in front of this telephone exchange on Ledard Rd #Glasgow are now doing the job that previously required the whole now neglected building. Lovely curved stonework at the door!

Remembering two of the best: Sinead who died 2 years ago today and my old man, 19 years ago today

Yes, I've been trawling through old photos. Yes, this is the last one. The time Quentin Crisp came to #Glasgow Pride. Mid-90s.
Wee outing to Crookston Castle. Wasn't sure if I'd make it to the top but the ladders were easier than I remembered. Tbf last time I tried was over 50 years ago and I only had tiny legs.

I am looking at all the cishet fairweather friends of the LGBT+ community who were vocal supporters of marriage equality when it was fashionable, but who either disappeared or joined in on the relentless campaign against trans people that helped make this possible. *slow claps*
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage declares that legalising same-sex marriage was "wrong" scenemag.co.uk/reform-uk-lead…
6 July 2008. The day of my final hangover having enjoyed the free bar at my brother's wedding the day before. Haven't touched a drop since! 😇
6 July 2008. Rafa Nadal beat Roger Federer 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 9-7, in what is regarded as the greatest Men’s Singles Final at Wimbledon even though the match suffered from several rain delays, and was completed in near darkness.
So how's the UK feeling today after arresting an 83 year old for peacefully objecting to genocide? Is it a happier country? Is everyone feeling better off? Is life satisfaction improving?
*Delighted* with this beautiful birthday gift, if not wi being called old! Just cos I've still got a Glasgow 800 mug. Give me a few hundred years and I'll have a decent amount of dishes! 🐦🔔🐟🌳

That screech you hear is the barrel that cannot be scraped any more
Sorry that not being able to make quite as many people's lives even more miserable has made you sad, I guess
Probably my fave bit of map - Shields Rd + its stations in the 1890s (swiped from the Gerry Blaikie website). None of the 3 - Pollokshields Station, Shields Road Station or Shields Station - have survived, while P'shields East, P'shields West + Maxwell Park are a good bit away

I know we get summer days when the tar on the pavements starts to melt but today's G41 sunshine was ridiculous 😋 #Glasgow #litter

Ooh I love to kick off my weekend with an hour in the dentists chair 😐
Delighted for you, @GlasgowPam. Maybe one day I’ll earn a bauble too—if I ever decide to sell out and abandon every principle I’ve stood for.
"To go from being a wee working class woman in a wheelchair as an MSP, I'm now a wee working class woman in a wheelchair with an MBE." @GlasgowPam told @ThatsTVGlasgow that the news that she was "shocked and overwhelmed" to be named in the King's Birthday Honours List.
Happy birthday to this stunning tune!
June 15, 1925: George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” is performed for the first time overseas, the composer himself playing piano at the Savoy in London. The concert is broadcast by radio on the BBC. “All-conquering jazz appeared in a new guise,” the Daily Mirror reports.
Just been a wee traipse up the hill to Alexander 'Greek' Thomson's Holmwood House, now in the hands of @N_T_S. Haven't seen it since the restoration was completed. Stunning design everywhere and all matches my new tattoo! 😋 #Glasgow #Heritage #Architecture 🏛🐦🌳🔔🐟
