Thomas A. Parham
@CSUDHPrezParham
The 11th President of California State University @DominguezHills. Go Toros! Husband, #girldad, sibling, psychologist, scholar, academician, healer.
Yesterday, I had the honor of signing an MOU with ICYOLA during a special reception ahead of their annual concert. We are excited about this new partnership and the opportunities it brings for our students and community.

WOW: to cap the weekend off, sitting in Disney Concert Hall in LA listening to the Inner City youth Orchestra Of Los Angeles (ICYOLA) that CSUDH signed an MOU with. Talking about the transformation of lives! They are fabulous & the Conductor Chuck Dickerson is part of my faculty

(3/3) on F Douglas: There is not a nation on the earth guilty of practices, more shocking and bloody, than are the Gov’t & people of these United States, at this very hour. History continues to repeat itself and we act like we are celebrating independence?
F Douglas Meaning of July 4th (Cont): your boasted liberty, an unholy license; your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sounds of rejoicing are empty and heartless; your denunciations of tyrants, brass fronted impudence; your shouts of liberty and equality, hollow mockery;
Frederick Douglas was prophetic as he reminded us in 1852 What, to the American slave is your 4th of July? A day that reveals, more than all other day, the gross injustice and cruelty to which BIPOC & Immigrants are the constant victim. To us in 2025, your celebration is a sham.
Sharing a brief excerpt from my commencement address. Congratulations Class of 2025!
Proud to share a short moment from my commencement address. It was an honor to speak to the Class of 2025 on this unforgettable day.
Honored to award African centered scholar Dr. Wade Nobles an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters at this year’s commencement exercises. How do we uplift individuals whose contributions have been substantial and consequential? By holding them up to the entire graduating class.

To the extraordinary students of @dominguezhills as your chapter here comes to a close, a new one begins. Embrace the opportunities ahead, chase your dreams, and make a positive impact in the world. Congratulations, Class of 2025!

There is no better way to start the weekend, but to attend a CSU graduation. Congratulations @CSUDHPrezParham, faculty, and staff for putting together a beautiful celebration for your students. #CSUStrong
So proud of our Toro graduates today, and honored to have been there for you in this moment. More joy to come tomorrow as we close out our Commencement!

Yesterday, our men’s & women’s basketball teams were honored at the @CountyofLA Board of Supervisors meeting by our 2nd District Supervisor, @HollyJMitchell. This honor reflects not only their athletic excellence, but their leadership, resilience, & impact as student-athletes.

It’s our birthday!! We turn the big 6️⃣5️⃣ today. 🎉🎈We found some awesome photos from back in the day. Want to see more? The Gerth Archives and Special Collections is hosting an exhibition about the history of our campus inside the Faculty Development Center.
Just toured the new Health, Wellness, and Recreation Center and thrilled to see the incredible progress! It’s coming together beautifully. We can’t wait for our community to experience all it will offer. Exciting times ahead!
A festive occasion in the Toro Nation with our annual Dymally Jazz Festival yesterday with Sup Mitchell, Will Downing, Maysa, and Tito Puente. Thanks to Dr. Samad and his team for a marvelous day.

Had the pleasure of joining Toro Time Live for the final episode of the season! I sat down with Dr. Lucas and anthropology student Hailey, where we explored the intersection of culture and cuisine, shared our favorite foods, discussed the culture at CSUDH, and much more.
