CORE's assessment team met Alma whose 73-year-old mother and nephew narrowly escaped the floods. They tried to quickly escape but the waters rose so rapidly they had to cling to a fence until fast acting neighbors and rescue teams saved them. #texasfloods



Another devastating flood, similar to the one in Texas, struck Kentucky in 2022 when torrential rainfall caused widespread destruction across central Appalachia. CORE responded quickly to provide critical support to low-income and high-risk communities.




Catastrophic flooding is becoming increasingly common, and as we saw in Texas just days ago, history has a way of repeating itself. In September 2022, Pakistan experienced unprecedented, devastating floods that caused widespread damage across the country’s southern regions.
