One of my favorite things is talking fighting games with others. From balance, history, strategies, development etc. It’s such a niche, and that why I appreciate you guys giving me a place to share my thoughts.

I dont care what Knee’s specific argument is at all, he’s right that the age of social media engineering a patch is the wrong way to play fighting games, period I don’t know how we got here, but we have to go back
Leveled up in City Of Wolves. I’m trying to take that next tournament. Got to keep going.

Yeah, nowadays games are almost fully explored within days or weeks, people wait for pros to make tier lists and starts to try and copy. Which makes online play kinda repetitive, with the same characters, combos, strategies. People would play and get better with whatever char
You formed friendship, rivalries in real life. You went to different arcades and see new tech or bring new tech and share with other communities. Now with online, YouTubers, etc. all that magic is gone. Not to say they aint great but it was an awesome time to play fighters.
This is why I say the death of arcades was so bad for fighting games
