The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for NYC on Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Temperatures could feel as hot as 105 degrees. If you need to get out of the heat, District 20 has ten cooling centers where you can get some relief.

It was great to visit with Joe Cina, Senior Pastor Gary Domiano, Pastor Aaron Chan & Gabe Hisugan from First Baptist Church of Flushing this week. I look forward to partnering with them to bring services and resources to even more people in the Flushing community.

I had a great time at the annual @FlushingBID Health Fair, an event that brings vital resources and services directly to our neighbors in a fun, family-friendly way. A big thank you to the BID for organizing and the incredible work they do all year long to help Flushing thrive.



The Department of @nychealthy will conduct ground-base spraying to control the mosquito population and combat West Nile Virus in parts of ZIP codes 11355, 11358 & 11365 beginning tonight at 8:30 PM until 6 AM tomorrow morning.

Earlier this week, your 109 cops conducted a joint operation with the Department of Homeless Services & the Sanitation Department to cleanup an illegal encampment and to provide services to individuals experiencing homelessness at 135-02 Roosevelt Ave.

NYC cooling centers open Wednesday 7/16 and Thursday 7/17 due to forecasted high temps and heat indices. Older adults, people with health risks, and those without A/C should plan ahead. Call sites to check hours. Find a center: nyc.gov/beattheheat or call 311.
A reminder that all children 18 and younger can get a free lunch Monday through Friday at the Flushing, McGoldrick & Mitchell-Linden branches of @QPLNYC from 1 to 2 p.m. Enrollment is not required.
