I couldn’t let this night end without wishing our beloved city a Happy 235th Birthday. 🎂 🎉 As a native, I’m proud to be able to serve our residents and celebrate all of the things that make D.C. special.

I support removing the I-82 provision from the Budget Support Act to honor our commitment to take the time needed for proper analysis and stakeholder engagement. We promised a pause to better understand the impact on workers and small businesses, so let’s keep that promise.

Our residents are asking us to make real changes. We are losing affordable housing faster than we can build it. It cost is less to preserve housing than it does to create new housing.
