Yesterday, I chaired a @CECCgov hearing on the Chinese Communist Party’s global campaign of intimidation and repression against Taiwan and its partners. The CCP is even targeting our own citizens right here in America. It is outrageous and every American should know about it.
The #HongKong authorities’ latest attempt to intimidate Hong Kongers in the U.S. and beyond is completely unacceptable. Congress must pass the Hong Kong Judicial Sanctions Act (S.1755) to hold those behind this #transnationalrepression accountable. apnews.com/article/hong-k…

The Chairs condemn the Hong Kong government’s Christmas Eve announcement of a HK$1 million bounty on six more democracy activists under “national security charges.” The Commission, as well as the US State Department, denounces this brazen transnational repression.
On this day we seek the unconditional release of all #Christians detained for peacefully practicing their faith, including #Catholic Bishop #ZhangWeizhu and #Protestant pastor #WangYi. The Chairs continue to seek the whereabouts of Bishop #SuZhimin, who disappeared 28 years ago.
