Since the new aid distribution system put in place by Israel in Gaza, there have been 20 mass casualty events in the ICRC field hospital in Rafah. 149 people arrived today, the majority with gunshot injury.
📍Gaza Today, the 60-bed Red Cross Field Hospital in Rafah received a mass casualty influx of 149 cases. Tragically, 16 were declared dead on arrival, and three more died of their wounds shortly thereafter.

A high number of dead and injured patients were received by the Red Cross Field Hospital in Rafah this morning. This is indicative of the increasing danger to civilians in Gaza, and the challenges each day brings for them.
Cluster munitions kill men, women and children indiscriminately, long after conflicts have ended. Their production and use should be ended.
Cluster munitions cause extensive civilian casualties and long-lasting problems. Today marks 17 years of the Convention on Cluster Munitions that prohibits the use, production, stockpiling, & transfer of those weapons and requires States to ensure they claim no further victims.
