Check out our open-access paper on neural processing of linguistic and musical syntax in #autism. First author is the wonderful @jiayin_li96. @ERC_Research #EUfunded onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/au…
Brilliant work by the wonderful @jiahoongong! #EUfunded @ERC_Research molecularautism.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…
I'm co-editing a Collection on Music Cognition and Perception for @SciReports. We are welcoming submissions that use behavioural, neurophysiological, and computational approaches to studying this topic. nature.com/collections/fe…
Excellent work, Beth!
Very pleased to have this paper in Aphasiology. We analysed first-hand descriptions of inner speech written by people with aphasia to shed light on theoretical and clinical questions. tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…
#Autistic #Mandarin speakers imitated relative #pitch and #duration less accurately than non-autistic participants during #speech #imitation. First author by the wonderful @AliceWang1003 @ERC_Research #EUfunded

During the residential, @UniofReading Scholars did a project studying the link between #music, #language & #reading, as participants, experimenters & researchers. They presented work at #university level & thoroughly enjoyed the experience! @UniRdg_Psych

On Day 3 of the Reading Scholars programme, our wonderfully brilliant @jiayin_li96, PhD student @UniRdg_Psych @UniRdg_PhD, demonstrated how to conduct correlation analysis in Excel. The Scholars learned to create scatter plots and calculate correlations!

On Day 1 of the residential for Reading Scholars, our amazing Sara Cha, PhD student @UniRdg_Psych @UniRdg_PhD, delivered an engaging, informative & inspiring session on her research in #nutritional #psychology. In her 3rd year, she has already published 2 papers!

On Day 2 of the residential for Reading Scholars (Year 12 students experiencing university life with us from underrepresented backgrounds), we held a Q&A session about @UniRdg_Psych with our wonderful PhD & undergraduate students as panel members. @UniRdg_Diverse

Very pleased to chair this special session on #pitch processing in #music and #language on behalf of my wonderful co-organisers, Dr Xin Wang and Prof. Peter Pfordresher at Speech Prosody 2024 @SP2024

Neural responses to #musical tension show similarity across listeners. These patterns are driven by physical features and modulated by musical themes. A collaboration with @thomps95, Cunmei Jiang & other wonderful co-authors! @ERC_Research #EUFunded sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Our "Many Voices" 75-author collaboration led by @YutoOzaki1 finding global regularities in music-speech relationships is now out on the cover of @ScienceAdvances: science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… Full video of 18 coauthors singing/speaking in our own languages at youtu.be/a4eNNrdcfDM
Our Registered Report is finally published in Science Advances (doi.org/10.1126/sciadv…) with an insightful comment by @DanielaSammler (doi.org/10.1126/sciadv…)! I cannot express enough appreciation enough to @PatrickESavage and our team of 75 coauthors for making this happen.
Happy CLEESE family at @escan2024 Thank you for the invitation @jjtokyo ! @lnalborczyk, @CAASDproject, Paige Tuttosi, Émilie St-Pierre
Excellent presentation by @jiayin_li96 on syntactic processing in #music and #language in #autism @escan2024 @ERC_Research #EUfunded

Come and check out our poster on syntactic processing in #music and #language in #autism @AutismINSAR #INSAR2024, with @jiayin_li96 @ERC_Research #EUfunded

Our Registered Report, “Globally, songs and instrumental melodies are slower, higher, and use more stable pitches than speech,” is now officially recommended by @PCI_RegReports! rr.peercommunityin.org/articles/rec?i…. My deepest gratitude to @PatrickESavage and our team of 75 coauthors. (1/3)

Researchers @CAASDproject @UniofReading are looking for #autistic people, with a diagnosis, aged 16-45, and neurotypical people aged 25 to 45 to take part in a study investigating speech and music processing. For more details, scan the QR or click tinyurl.com/2ha6rjes #autism
Predictive processing of music and language in autism is largely dependent on individual differences in musical, linguistic, and cognitive abilities. Co-authored by the wonderful @jiahoongong #EUFunded @ERC_Research onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/au…
The next session was given by Dr Piril Hepsomali, who talked about research on #sleep and #health . A very engaging and informative session! @UniRdg_Psych @UniofReading @UniRdg_Research
