C-17 Trailing Edge Flaps, using an "externally blown flap" system, engine exhaust is under the flaps to enhance lift. Externally blown flap system causes significant thermal and acoustic stress on the flaps. Flaps move relative to the wing via kinematic linkage arrangement.
