Let the record show that I may or may not have been notable at one time on this website.

Subjectivity and the Selection Committee are a selling point in CFB, too many are treating it like a bug. The ACC, more than any league, should know that. si.com/college-footba…
Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz is about to kickoff his 27th season as head coach of the Hawkeyes. A lot has changed about the sport, but he’s more fired up than ever to keep coaching it. “I feel great and this is what I like doing, and I don’t have a real good reason to stop right now.”…
Column: Petitti speaks! It wasn't very convincing. bit.ly/4o3nJ1y
Tony Petitti made his CFP case today and as @ByPatForde writes, his case wasn’t terribly compelling. si.com/college-footba…
Exactly right.
My interpretation: Collective can pay a player 5k to show up at an event. Collective can’t (for now) pay a player 500k to show up at an event. The latter is the more compelling fight and will dictate whether the “CSC” changes this past year’s status quo.
Missed it earlier but Rhett Lashlee said Craig James is now "in the building" with SMU football.
RIP.
It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and…
Petitti: "There's a sorta counter idea that it gets easier to make the decisions. It actually gets harder. More teams look alike. More teams are going to have 9-3 records. More teams are going to struggle in a conference road game."
Tony Petitti is really making a good case AGAINST playoff expansion.
Tony Petitti: "A critical goal of any postseason format, regardless of sport, is to keep as many teams alive as deep into the season as possible. We want more conference games to matter in November." That is very much spoken like a TV executive.
Petitti said, "There's huge value in getting more teams to compete." Are we trying to crown a national champion or are we just trying to hold a beauty contest in the first round of the CFP?
Petitti on whether the SEC and Big Ten can figure out a future playoff model: "We're obviously not in the same place on these discussions. I think the goal would be to bring people back together ... every time when the two leagues have come together good things have happened."
Tony Petitti is really making a good case AGAINST playoff expansion.
Stanford interim coach Frank Reich on Bill Belichick and Bill O’Brien being in the ACC. “It’s cool and it makes me feel at home. I just wish they were in a different conference.”
Rhett Lashlee on the SEC: “The same six schools have won the SEC since 1964. Not a single one is different from 1964. That’s top heavy, that’s not depth.”
SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee with a topical point on joining the ACC: “We didn’t pay a dime to get into the league.”
SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee: “The committee let us in last year, I’m thankful for that.” Adds, “We shouldn’t be politicking to get in.” Advocates 16 team CFP with four auto bids for SEC/B1G/ACC+ND and three for Big 12.
SMU OL Logan Parr says, "I kinda got ran out of my old school." He is a transfer from Texas.
SMU QB Kevin Jennings was asked two questions about the Mustangs rivalry with... Boston College? That's one fewer question about the series than games played (three).
