We are looking for a post doc (2 year position) to work on fundamental and applied salmonid migration ecology. Work place is Eawag in Kastanienbaum, Switzerland, located on the shores of Lake Lucerne. See more here: apply.refline.ch/673277/1241/pu…

We extended the deadline for this PhD position on migratory Arctic charr along climate gradients in Greenland. New deadline November 10th. Read more and apply here: apply.refline.ch/673277/1210/pu…
New PhD position in our group @EawagResearch, focusing on migration ecology of Arctic charr in pristine Greenland rivers, lakes and fjords 🇬🇱 across a climate gradient. Please spread to potential candidates. Deadline for applications November 3rd. apply.refline.ch/673277/1210/pu…
I am excited to share that @DFF_raad has funded my idea to use Greenlandic arctic char as a prism to study the importance of microbes in driving speciation of their host organism. We talk more about the project in the article below.
🦠Can #microbes drive adaptive #evolution of their host organism? 💡A new grant awarded to @MortenLimborg by @DFF_raad will explore this exciting question using #Greenlandic #Arctic #char as a model!🐟 #Hologenomics #Science @grundforskFond @Globe_UCPH 👇 ceh.ku.dk/news/2024/new-…

Finally done with this year's 2+ months field expedition in South Greenland. 24 lakes, 13 rivers and around 2900 Arctic charr sampled. Many interesting morphs (see picture). Great effort from Elliot, Herman, Nadja, Woody, Mara and Marina. Big thanks to all locals for support.

New paper: we showed the influence of partial migration on food web structure, the ecology and size-structure of non-migratory individuals by comparing several stretches with and without migration in natural Greenlandic rivers inhabited by Arctic charr: doi.org/10.1186/s40462…
Higher education student, looking for practical experience in research? Lab work and fieldwork @EawagResearch in beautiful surroundings! Then why not apply for one of our paid internships this autumn? 10 more days to apply: apply.refline.ch/673277/1174/pu…

First range tests @ThelmaBiotel for our coming Swiss Rhine-Aare River fish tracking network😀. Starting at very benign lake conditions before heading to the more difficult river environment! It is coming @AquaticTracking Well done @JelgerE , @biamfrcastro & @LuisAquatics

How is biodiversity around the globe responding to warming? Do drivers differ between terrestrial and aquatic realms?🌿🐟 Check out our new paper in @NatureComms led by @imrankhaliq9 analyzing change in 7,123 freshwater and 6,201 terrestrial communities! go.nature.com/49ZoZuH
The 4th ETN symposium will be held 16-18 October 2024 in Palma de Mallorca!!! 🥳👀 Interested in joining us for a few days of tracking science, discussions and fun? 🐟 Fill out this 30-sec survey so we can gauge interest: forms.gle/mdtszNs41KMF6d… Registration will come later 👌

New 2-year Postdoc in my Evolutionary Ecosystem Ecology group in Switzerland (@EawagResearch). This position builds on almost 5 years of work in Southern Greenland (lots to publish!) and includes 1-2 new field excursions (lots of new data to collect). apply.refline.ch/673277/1130/pu…
PhD student Dominique Stalder process one of the last returners for our Swiss-wide study on diversity between populations of lake-migratory Atlantic trout. With 90cm it exemplified that this river holds some of the largest returners in the country. But why these differences?

Our next DEE External Seminar welcomes Jakob Brodersen (hosted by Claus Wedekind) for a talk on migratory salmonids in post-glacial environments 🐟. Oct 25 at 12:15, Biophore Amphitheater or online rec.unil.ch/lives/live_808…
We are still accepting applications until Sunday for these two exciting positions. Wonderful location, fantastic colleagues and important science.
