Respectfully, a personal relationship between a local official and their legislators is more powerful than a paid lobbyist as a middleman. Distance to Austin is no excuse for not working with your legislators. Besides, they spend more time in their home districts than in Austin.…
There is zero reason a local elected official would need a hired gun to go between them and their state representative or senator. No one else should be better suited to advocate for their cause, or have more credibility with their state legislators.
