Toronto City Councillor for Davenport. Rights, equity & economic power for people. Anti-fascist, siempre. Wu name: The Contendah. She/her.
Heart-wrenching, intolerable cruelty and suffering. Canada signed on to war, prisoner, and other human rights conventions. Why won’t our government use every diplomatic and economic tool to uphold our commitments? theguardian.com/world/2025/jul…
My statement on several instances of antisemitic and hateful graffiti near Bloor & Lansdowne.

City Council just adopted the Rat Response Plan to get ahead of this challenge with: ✅ a coordination team & enforcement table ✅ inspection and enforcement blitzes ✅ a review of the property standards bylaws to improve pest management ✅ rat management plans for construction

We can get ahead of the rats. Toronto’s new Rat Response Plan is at City Council for approval—it includes proactive and targeted measures to keep our neighbourhoods clean and safe.
Let's be practical: we need purpose-built, right-sized shelters in our city if we want to address the homelessness crisis. Thanks @gregbradyx for talking with me about building the new shelters that Toronto needs.
It was great to meet Andrew who took the initiative to build ttcmap.ca and show the way on how the TTC can better communicate information about service. We’re fortunate to have such dedicated transit riders in Toronto.
Andrew, TTCriders, is deputing on how confusing, redundant and hard to find information about delays, shut downs, and service metrics etc.
Now that our new shade structure is installed, Nairn Park is complete! 🌳🥳 Join me on Saturday from 11am-12pm to cut the ribbon to celebrate our new local park, enjoy a freezie, and meet some neighbours.

I had a great time celebrating the Grand Opening of the Youth Leaders of Tomorrow Hub at Pelham Park. Partnering with @TOHousing, we’ve put funds into an updated space for programs and a computer lab for youth. These are investments in the future of Davenport and our community.

Great to see so many neighbours on Saturday afternoon to welcome @CovenantHouseTO as the operator of the new youth shelter at 1615 Dufferin St! Thanks to everyone who joined us for games, music, face painting, food, and conversation about welcoming our new neighbours.

It was great to visit Covenant House to see the impact of their work first hand, and to learn more about their comprehensive services that help young people get prepared for success in the world.
Thank you, City of Toronto Ward 9-Davenport Councillor @BravoDavenport , for your recent visit to learn about Covenant House and the services we offer youth in our community to help break the cycle of homelessness. #CityofToronto #CovenantHouseTO #Toronto #YouthHomelessness
When Metrolinx starts projects, they need to respect local communities with basic transparency and accountability. When closures drag on for months with little to no information, it erodes trust. I wrote to the CEO of Metrolinx on behalf of our community 👇
