BRAEMAR MOUNTAIN RESCUE Coming to the aid of persons in the Cairngorms since 1965. Our volunteers rely on your support.
This week we want to acknowledge the volunteer mountain rescue teams across Scotland who, for over 60 years, have been helping people who find themselves in difficulty in our hills, mountains, and outdoor spaces. 🚨⛰ (1/4)
Members of the Braemar team were out last night on their first call of the year assisting three hill walkers who had gotten into difficulty in the winter conditions.

All the volunteers in the Braemar Mountain Rescue Team would like to wish our supporters and followers a very merry and safe Christmas. The photograph, taken by team member Paul Noble, was the winner of our 2024 photography competition.

Will and Euan are fund raising for us. The incredible Cairngorm ‘link up’ Glenmuick to Cairngorm via Lochnagar, Square face, cumming crofton, talisman, clean sweep and savage slit by running and climbing. Good luck guys! 🫡 justgiving.com/page/cairngorm…
Technical training today after a callout yesterday evening for an injured walker in the Glenshee hills. Today, all things ropes, stretchers and cliffs. #anyhour #anyday #anyweather

Callout last night to rescue a group of walkers from the Cairngorms and we took most of the night to get them off safely. Summit temps overnight are likely to feel below freezing so the hills can be easily underestimated. It’s ain’t summer. #anyhour #anyday #anyweather

A massive thank you to the team from @Chevron who raised funds for us by running today at @RunBalmoral . And to everyone else who supported us by donating or just calling by for a chat.

Team deployed to assist a walker today near Balmoral along with Coastguard and Scottish Ambulance Service. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Callout last night with @AberdeenMRT for 2 walkers in difficulty on Lochnagar. Located safe and well in the wee small hours. Please remember if heading out, read the weather forecast and have the skills and kit to enable you to enjoy your day 👍🏻

We’ll be watching. 😉
Come on down and join us - thanks to our contributors @Alonso2012F @BraemarMRT amongst others.
Huge thanks to Keith Mathieson who has chosen to raise some funds for us after we rescued him and his dog last year. Best of luck with the challenge Keith and thanks again. 👏 justgiving.com/fundraising/ke…

See you soon! Hope you’ve got your thermals on. 🥶
Good morning to you far and wide. I’m still in Bonny Braemar it’s cold and snowy! Off to film with the @BraemarMRT this morning as I say goodbye to @Alonso2012F
I had thee best day filming with the @BraemarMRT today. What an inspiring team, the camaraderie was amazing. I felt so honoured to be there. Thank you for giving me a glimpse into your day, an honour! 🙏🙏🙏
Today we welcomed the wonderful @JudithRalston and a BBC production team to our winter skills training day for an upcoming programme on Scotland’s weather. We were lucky to escape just before storm Isha hits the hills!

Called to Ben MacDui last night along with @cairngorm_mrt for walker lost on the plateau. Located safe and well after a great effort by CMRT and walked off North side. 💪🏻 Poor conditions meant 🚁 support couldn’t access (tried hard though). A very long night. 🥶

“Firm and consequential travel in many locations.” Say @coordinatorsais Learning to stop quickly and safely takes practice. Taking a fall in the first place doesn’t. #ThinkWINTER

Some more media from this afternoon. 🎥 📸 Thank you to all our followers.
