The Tigers have lost eight of their last nine games, but are tied with an MLB-best 60 wins, and lead the American League by a half-game.

“Year 4, training camp, no distractions." Jameson Williams reached the 1,000-yard mark last season. The Lions feel he can have a breakout season. He does too. "That’s my main focus: just playing football, getting out there, making plays, doing what I could do for my team.”

The Tigers lost 8-5 to the Pirates on Tuesday night. Detroit has dropped eight of the last nine games.

INTERVIEW: @AlbertBreer believes the Lions have a strong chance to improve in 2025. "As good as the team was last year, they should get better," he said. "It's just the age of some of the best players on the team, and how they should still be getting better."

Lions linebacker Derrick Barnes missed 14 games last season due to injury. He is emotional returning to the field. "I dreamed of this day, of this camp. A long time coming, he said. "It can be taken away from you in a snap of a finger, which it was for me last year."

Lions fans, Aidan Hutchinson is smiling on the football field again - and working furiously on it. Great to see

Lions practice got so physical that Dan Campbell had to stop the work and address the team. No fights, just intensity. Our coverage from Allen Park includes an update on Aidan Hutchinson and others returning from injuries, and Alex Anzalone's disappointment over his contract:
"I want to retire a Lion." “I’m disappointed. I’ll just say that,” Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone spoke publicly for the first time about his desire for a contract extension. “This is a weird situation. And it wasn’t on my end or my agent’s end.”
Alex Anzalone spoke publicly for the first time about his contract situation. He wants an extension. “I’m disappointed. I’ll just say that,” the Lions linebacker said Tuesday. “This is a weird situation. And it wasn’t on my end, or my agent’s end.”

Alex Anzalone broke his silence on his contract hold-in: “I want to retire a Lion.” The veteran linebacker said he is surprised the talks have taken this long. He will not miss games because of it, he revealed, but isn’t sure if or when an extension will happen.

Jahmyr Gibbs switched jersey numbers to No. 0 this year. Why? "Oh, I just didn't like 26," the Lions running back said.

Aidan Hutchinson is back at Lions training camp, fully recovered from his broken tibia and fibula. Dan Campbell said the progress is "exciting." "It's just good to see his confidence back in himself," he said. "You can tell he has a lot of faith in where he's at right now."
The Lions will start padded practices on Friday, Dan Campbell said.

Dan Campbell said they saw a lot in Tate Ratledge in college that told them he can be an NFL center. "We're putting a lot on him. He's drinking out of a firehose right now," he said. "It already looks more natural."

Dan Campbell said RB Sione Vaki (hamstring) and DT Roy Lopez (stepped on, cleat twisted on his foot) are not practicing today.
