IT'S OFFICIALLY ON THE SHELVES! Words cannot describe how pleased I am to see my @Legion_Magazine special issue on the liberation of the Netherlands now available in stores. This Brit tells the largely Canadian story through the seasons, including the "sweetest of springs."

British couple held by Taliban 'may die in prison,' son warns. Both lived in Afghanistan for 18 years, where they had citizenship and ran education projects. One of these projects involved training women and children. #ReleasetheReynolds bbc.com/news/articles/β¦
Just finished Narrow Road to the Deep North, having paused it for a while after Annie found one scene too difficult. This has to be one of the best WW II series ever made, certainly of the P.o.W experience. Raw, poetic, heartwrenching, and unceasingly poignant. A masterpiece. π¦πΊ

Trying desperately not to cry as I research posthumous Victoria Cross recipient Ian Bazalgette, a Canadian-born RAF Bomber Command pilot. He clearly adored his London-based mother, who still did his laundry until the day he died, aged 25, in a raid against a V-1 launching site.
Woken up with a flood of gratitude for being able to live in Canada. Sometimes, I wish I was born here - boy, that would certainly save a lot of paperwork! - but I'm also afforded the choice, the opportunity, to choose Canada. I hope I never have to wish farewell to Nova Scotia.

Did you attend the memorial events for Ernest (Smokey) Smith, V.C. - Canada's last living Victoria Cross recipient - when he passed away in August 2005? I'd love to hear your memories if so. πΈ Stephen J. Thorne

Well done, Canada π¨π¦π¬π§
Thank you and goodbye to our friends from the @CanadianArmy who temporarily took over the duty of The Kingβs Life Guard at Horse Guards from @HCav1660 this month with inimitable style and aplomb. You were awesome and we will miss you!
(2/2) It often feels like we're going round in circles as we pursue permanent residency, and let's just say it ain't cheap, either! Sometimes, we want to pull our hair out while navigating the system. And we remain worried that we won't be accepted. Let's just hope it's worth it.
(1/2) I have the privilege of living in Canada by choice, having come from a stable, democratic country, and I know that no matter what happens, I'll be fine. But Annie and I do still endure hardships, not least the emotional - and financial! - stresses of new visa applications.

Does anyone have the website link to physically applying for a Canadian visa extension before I tear what's left of my hair out?! Not the "how to apply," not the FAQs or guides. The. Actual. Bloody. Form.
