Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a fire on the balcony at 2 West 6th st. South Boston.


At approximately 1:15 firefighters responded to a partial building collapse at 57 Webster st. East Boston. The building was vacant at the time , and the adjacent building at 55 Webster has been evacuated. There are no injuries to report. Awaiting the building inspector.




It took firefighters approx. 1 hr to evacuate 500 people from a @MBTA Blue Line train that was disabled under the harbor between Maverick & Aquarium station. They used the Nolan cart to transport anyone needing assistance using 3 exits , 2 in Boston & 1 in East Boston




At approx 3:30 this morning fire on the 1st floor at 121 Marine Rd. South Boston. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire 7 adults 2 children and 3 cats were displaced. @RedCrossMA . No injuries to report the cause of the fire is under investigation.

A busy 24 hours for our firefighters, many of them working at the 3 alarm fire on Corwin st. in the day and the 4 alarm fire that evening on Poplar st. A great job by all our firefighters and Fire Alarm Operators .

Deputy Chief Michael Doherty addressed the media at 143 Poplar St this morning. 10 people are displaced. 2 were rescued via windows. Damages est. $800,000+. @BOSTON_EMS transported 1 civilian & 1 firefighter for minor injuries. @RedCrossMA will assist displaced




Firefighters ran over 3 thousand feet of hose line battling the 4 alarm fire. They are rotating fire companies to keep them fresh on a hot and humid night.


Chief of Operations Patrick Ellis is now in charge of the 4 alarm fire on Poplar st. Heavy fire knocked down, companies continue to chase hot spots.

Firefighters have switched to a defensive approach, using multiple portable deck guns to surround the building and protect the exposures. As the fire continues to burn in the attic.

Heavy fire in the attic through, all firefighters have been ordered to out of the building .
Heavy fire in the attic through the roof a 4th alarm has been ordered. All occupants are out of the building.
At approximately 1:30 heavy black smoke from a large 2 1/2 story building a report of people in the building. A 2nd and 3rd alarm has been ordered.
Deputy Chief Michael Doherty addressed the media at 15 Corwin Street fire. There were 7 people displaced but out safely. 1 firefighter was transported by @BOSTON_EMS with minor injuries. Damages est. around $750,000. @RedCrossMA is assisting families displaced




When seconds matter , the 1st alarm companies had to work around a car that was parked in front of the hydrant at the 3 alarm on Corwin st. Dorchester .

All companies are still working & gaining control of the fire in this 2 family home. Large efforts to rehab companies underway with initial companies ordered out of attack level.
