I am proud that my Bill is moving through Parliament at the moment to protect greyhounds and make racing illegal in Scotland. I want to see a UK-wide ban as soon as possible to end the needless suffering of these gentle creatures. These beautiful dogs deserve a better life

The UK is one of just a handful of countries where greyhound racing continues. Last year alone that led to the death of 346 dogs and the injury of a further 3,809. It's time to end this cruel sport in Scotland for good. This year I introduced a bill that will do just that.
I could not have asked for a better way to complete my first year as an MP today. Too many animals have been suffering at the hands of criminal abusers and as a vet, to see this bill pass means everything to me.

We have long advocated for the licensing of animal rescues and shelters so it's great to see MPs coming together to support @RicHolden Animal Shelters (Licensing) Bill which is on the Order Paper today.
Great to support @RicHolden Bill and campaign. Too many incidents where rescue shelters let animals down in their care. Breeders & kennels should be licensed allowing for proper protections – his Bill will ensure this happens for shelters as well – much needed legislation!
