Vascular Surgeon/PD at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson via @Penn, @RWJMS, @SinaiVascular. Long suffering @Giants fan. Snack provider to Moose the Pug. Tweets my own
Office hours. Patient: “You look pretty young for a surgeon.” Me: “Thanks, you can’t see my grey hair under my scrub cap.” Pt: “So you’ve done a lot of these surgeries?” Me: “Plenty. Maybe one, two a week.” (Confidently takes a sip of coffee from the mug @DanHan just sent him)

Can’t wait to join everyone at @EndovascularNY in a couple short months. Discussion of aortic cases is second to none. (And the prizes aren’t bad either). Would highly recommend vascular trainees reserve a spot and secure a scholarship ASAP! @FutureVascSurgn @VessVsig
The #NYEVS2025 Aortic Fellows Bootcamp includes expert-led lectures, hands-on learning, and cutting-edge insights you won’t find anywhere else! 🫀 Apply TODAY before scholarships are filled! nyevs.org #cardiology #Aortic #AorticFellow #interventionalcardiology…
After 5 years of @RWJMS #vascular residency, w/ 2 years as Chief, we celebrated the graduation of outstanding surgeon, Kristen Lee. She’ll be missed in the team room, but she won’t be far as she (after well deserved vacay) operates down the road for the Cardiovascular Care Group

Our PGY4 @RWJMS resident @Chamiltonians presents our workflow for in-situ laser fenestration in complex aortic disease at #VAM2025. Great discussion about how and when to use this technique vs PMEG or TAMBE. (W/ many thanks to all who helped us refine our technique over the yrs)

Many thanks to @BIDMCVascular’s Dr Schermerhorn for braving travel chaos to join us as our 2025 Rosenberg distinguished lecturer at @RWJMS! Not only a phenomenal aortic surgeon, but a mentor to our own Dr Jen Li. (Alas it’s 3 days too late for the “May the FORS be with you” joke)

Congratulations to our two, to all of those who matched in vascular surgery, and to those who are still in the fight on their journey to becoming a vascular surgeon. Everyone finds their own different path and we are so happy to support you and welcome you to our field.
So excited to announce I’ll be staying at RWJ as the incoming vascular surgery intern. Thrilled to continue learning from the team that introduced me to vascular surgery, and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else! Looking forward to 5 more years :)
Great start to #VESS2025! @LilySFAdler gave a stellar talk on the path from med student to vascular resident (I’m still getting used to her USC ppts after her years at @RWJMS 😉). Then PDs from across the country sat down to give advice for matching into vascular. THE best mtg!

Great privilege to be PD of our vascular surgery residency program at @rutgershealth @RWJMS for the last few years, following in the steps of @SaumRahimi. Couldn’t ask for a better group of faculty and residents than ours.

So Proud of PGY3 Dr. Ashley Toussaint for winning the resident @rutgersbhs #GME Professionalism award! Nominated for her work with the @RWJMS vascular team, she epitomizes professionalism and creates an excellent #learningandworkingenvironment. @DylanRNieman @neilkotharimd
No surprise to find fellow masochists in our Division of Vascular Surgery at @RWJMS with strong participation in the @RutgersU Big Chill 5K race. True to its name: 28’F at the start! Not pictured: Division organizer @Chamiltonians (operating)

Congrats @sternvascular! Glad to have you back on the East Coast again!
#VIVA24: Along with Lorenzo Patrone who is still in transit to Las Vegas, @sternvascular receives the 2024 VCA Award from @VIVAPhysicians. The accolade is given to young physician-leaders for vascular career advancement.
