What a great day! Chester was discharged from hospital but I had a very important ceremony to attend after his discharge. When I got back to our room at Ronald McDonald House the staff had this waiting for me😊. That’s right I’m now a Canadian citizen! #BigdazCanadian

Chester is out of surgery it took longer for him to wake like we thought might be the case. Surgery was a success. #MightyChester

My Hometown Adelaide has 1.5million people & Halifax is a lovely little city as well. However after spending the weekend here enjoying the sights I realize I’ve changed there is not a bit of city boy left in me. I miss the sounds of horses, cows & roosters & I want to get home

Enjoyed today at the waterfront here in Halifax also caught some of The African Festival of Arts & Culture. Basically just relaxed before Chester’s surgery tomorrow early tomorrow morning.

Chester has surgery on Monday morning in Halifax. They don’t do the pre-op assessments on the weekend so we are having it done today then we get to spend the weekend in Halifax to do want we want before surgery which is nice. #MightyChester #Halifax #iwk

We have been in our new house for just over a year. Last year was the first time I ever had winter in Canada without a woodstove. I swore never again I nearly froze! I think wood stoves in winter are the beating heart of a house so our BlazeKing was installed yesterday😊

The family wanted taco salad (not top of my list) I relented to the request with a twist. I made flat bread so if you wanted to you could spoon the salad into the bread with some sour cream & salsa the crunchy taco salad & soft bread what a combo I give you the taco/rito😂

I literally have my hands full with Chester it is exhausting work physically and mentally but they say pressure builds diamonds…. I must be a diamond in the rough🤣. #cerebralpalsy #MightyChester

Chester’s stander is not really suited for rough surfaces however we live across the road from the school & I managed to use their carpark & driveway to take him for a little walk. He can’t see much but he loved the wind & sound of tractors going past. #MightyChester

It’s hard going the first year of turning the soil on a new veggie patch but everything is slowly coming along.

Koobideh kebab with lashings of garlic sauce. I would have grilled them outside on the bbq but it was really windy and we don’t have a great bbq. Nevertheless they were tasty😊.

Turkey bacon club on my homemade 9” Banh mi rolls with my coleslaw on the side. Considering it’s a sandwich for dinner the family are ecstatic 🤣… I must say they were really good. #homecooking #dinner

Chester helped me make Banh mi roll’s which we had for dinner loaded with grilled chicken, pickled carrots, cucumber, jalapeño, green onion & lashings of sriracha mayo. The rolls were crunchy, soft yet chewy the best we have ever made. #MightyChester #banhmi
