Sometimes I joke about what I'd do if I had one day left to live. Eat junk, go crazy, etc. Today it hit me: Jesus knew. And he washed feet.
The smoked chicken at Miller’s Smokehouse in Belton is the best I’ve ever tasted. Gracious. cc: @BBQsnob
As he went into battle, King Asa prayed: Help us, Lord our God, for we depend on you.—2 Chronicles 14:11 We may not ride into battle, but He still hears our cries for help—and meets us in our need.
One of the best parts of having adult children is getting to help them move every year for like a billion years in a row
When Rehoboam had established his sovereignty and royal power, he abandoned the law of the Lord—he and all Israel with him.—2 Chronicles 12:1 We tend to worship while in weakness, but stop once we are back in strength. True strength worships even when on top of the world.
The grace of God is beyond our control but not out of our reach.

JB and I just returned from a few days away at Lake Travis for a proper birthday celebration. My brother and his wife joined us on the back end of the trip and brought the fun and laughter up to 11. Feeling thankful about a good deal these days.

Good news for the good news. Thank you so much, Susan and Lee Bush. @TruettSeminary is so very grateful and hopeful regarding this transformative gift as we work with and alongside the @BaptistWorld and its partner churches and organizations.

50. Celebrated a significant birthday today with Joy and Drew at Magnolia Table. (Ben is at camp.) We had a fantastic brunch, and Joy gave me a new shirt to wear on the first day of class. Feeling very thankful for God’s exceeding kindness. Here’s to the next 50!

Just found out I apparently get a graduate assistant?!? Also: the library will scan chapters and email them to me or deliver the book I would like to use directly to the seminary.
2 Kings 7. I love the imagery of four diseased and unclean men discovering and enjoying the abandoned Aramean camp—drinking wine and hiding treasure—and then realizing they *must* tell everyone else so they can know they’ve been rescued, too. Sounds like the gospel to me.
