Hey everybody, have you heard the news? After patiently waiting for five years, I finally got to meet @therealjoebob and @kinky_horror at @Cultclassiccon. They're just as awesome as I imagined them to be. Also, Diana gives the best hugs.

#NowWatching Sinners When this came out, I heard a lot of people saying this is one of the best horror movies to come out this year. Given all of the good things I've heard about it, I'm hoping it lives up to the hype.

#NowWatching Rango When I was nine years old, I saw several ads for Rango on television, but I never had the opportunity to watch it. Even though I wouldn't consider myself a hardcore Western fan, this looks like a very fun movie.

Happy 12th anniversary to The Wolverine, the sixth installment in the X-Men film franchise. Due to rights issues with Marvel Studios, Viper is never referred to as Madame Hydra. Instead, she's a mutant scientist who is immune to all poisons and toxins.

#NowWatching Street Trash (2024) Tonight, the #FFBMovieNight folks and I are checking out the long-awaited remake of Street Trash, the movie that created the #FFB. Ever since it was announced, I’ve been curious to see if it’ll be better than the original.

Happy 45th anniversary to Caddyshack, which revolves around an exclusive golf course dealing with a flatulent new member and a destructive dancing gopher. Bill Murray improvised the scene with Peter Berkrot in which Carl holds a pitchfork to Angie's throat.

#NowWatching The Asphalt Jungle After Ladies of the Chorus, Marilyn Monroe made a few more small roles before starring in one the most influential films in the crime genre. I thought now would be the perfect time to watch it since I watched one of her movies yesterday.

Happy 38th anniversary to Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, the fourth installment in the Superman film franchise. The original budget was thirty-six million, but due to Cannon Films experiencing financial problems, it was slashed to seventeen million.

#NowWatching Ladies of the Chorus After her first two film roles, which were bit parts, Marilyn Monroe received her first major role in this 1948 musical. From the trailer, this looks like a fun and cute movie.

Today’s second #WomenofHorrorWednesday post is dedicated to @ElsaPataky_. She is most well-known for playing Laura Olney in Beyond Re-Animator. She also starred in Romasanta: The Werewolf Hunt, Snskes on a Plane, and Giallo.

Today’s first #WomenofHorrorWednesday post is dedicated to Carolyn Purdy-Gordon. She is most well-known for playing Dr. Harrod in Re-Animator. She also starred in From Beyond, Dolls, The Arrival, The Pit and the Pendulum (1991), and Castle Freak (1995).

Happy 21st anniversary to Catwoman, loosely based on the DC Comics character of the same name. According to Alex Green, the whip master, Halle Berryneeded a week of ninety minute practice sessions before she was able to successfully crack a whip.

#NowWatching I, Robot In high school, I read Isaac Asimov’s short story collection that this movie was based on. I'm curious to see how similar and different the adaptation is compared to the source material.

Happy 42nd anniversary to Jaws 3-D, the third installment in the Jaws franchise. The filmmakers initially planned to have very few 3-D effects. Studio executives ultimately pressured them to include more, worried that audiences would leave disappointed.

#NowWatching Braveheart Earlier this month, Tubi added Braveheart to their platform. I've had this movie on my watchlist for years, so I'm excited to finally check it out and see if it’s as good as everyone says it is.

Happy heavenly birthday to Robin Williams, who was most well-known for playing Mork in Mork & Mindy, Adrian Cronauer in Good Morning, Vietnam, Dr. Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting, Daniel Hillard in Mrs. Doubtfire, and voicing Genie in Aladdin, among many others.

Happy 41st anniversary to The NeverEnding Story, based on Michael Ende’s novel of the same name. With a budget of fifty million Deutsche Mark (about twenty-seven million dollars), this was the most expensive film ever produced in Germany at the time.

#NowWatching Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles Back in 2021, I watched the first two Crocodile Dundee movies, not knowing that there was a third entry in the series. I have a feeling that like the third Beverly Hills Cop film, this will be the worst one in the series.

Happy 30th anniversary to Clueless, a loose adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma. During the film, there are fifty-three different kinds of tartan/plaid used, seven of which are worn by Cher, and twelve by other major characters.

#NowWatching You’re Next Tonight, the #FFBMovieNight folks and I are checking out a slasher from the early 2010s that I haven't seen in a very long time. I liked it when I first saw it, but I don't remember what happened in it.

Happy 35th anniversary to Arachnophobia, which follows a small California town that becomes invaded by an aggressive, newly discovered species of spiders. The sound of a spider being crushed by Delbert McClintock’s shoe was made by the foley artists crushing potato chips.
