Why do ALL of these hypothetical fighting styles/weapons that Shanks will supposedly used to distance himself from being a Swordman always assumes that they're more powerful than his Swordmanship? It's like it's a default setting baked into these head-cannons.

I think this is ridiculous, Oda isn’t separating swordsmanship and swordsman strength. He described EVERYTHING rocks did and said this is swordsmanship. It isn’t limiting skill. It is a skill, it just happens to be his particular sword style.
