Piotr Bambrough
@BambotPiotr
Masurian teacher of war games, classic strategy and the basics of leadership in the Polish Army. Enthusiast and player of board war games.
I recently played four games of The Bell of Treason: 1938 Munich Crisis in Czechoslovakia, published by @GMTGames. The game exceeded expectations. It's very atmospheric, ambiguous, and has interesting victory conditions in a historical context. And there are Polish themes.

I've been less active lately, but despite the summer time, there's been a lot going on at work and in my hobby related to wargaming. In the meantime, I've received packages from @FoundationDietz and Histogame containing some cool treasures.

A bit of practice in Taiwan 202X. This game is both cunning and very brutal. Clauswitz's comparison of war to a card game takes on an almost literal meaning here. The issue of Taiwan, i.e. how great and multidimensional challenge of defending the island is, game shows nicely.

The week is slowly coming to an end, so it's time to prepare some reading for the upcoming weekend. Strong classics are always a good idea!

Man does not live by games alone. After a successful gaming training, it is time to reach for the basics of military training methodology to transform the conclusions into further development of practice.

Surprisingly, even my institution, the Military Center for Civic Education, decided to boast about the training: facebook.com/share/p/1F4WQJ…
The last week was full of intense experiences with conducting the 3rd edition of war games training for soldiers of the Polish army. I am exhausted, but for now I am very happy and have great satisfaction. Here is a quite large gallery: photos.app.goo.gl/DvEABKVLKKmavx…

Thanks to Histogame's permission and help, I'm preparing a large-format version of one of their games for wargames classes. Guess which one?

And finally, we have a proper convention website with a fully automated reservation system and scheduling of games during convention. Time passes and the convention continues to grow. Be sure to check it out: wargameron.pl

An evening with Congress of Vienna from @gmtgames spent with great company. A game with a really good political part and a slightly less successful simulation of military struggles. This time Napoleon quickly stopped the Coalition and took away its will to continue fighting.
"In the Shadows: Resistance in France 1943 - 1944" - great example of a game for Poles. The country with the largest resistance movement against the Germans, is still waiting for a game telling about its achievements. As for the game itself: interesting, simple, but not generic.

Well, the package from faraway Japan has arrived, and inside there are some real treasures. Banzai Magazine is still the best gaming magazine for me. Good articles (especially the one about the EuroWarGames book) and, as usual, a beautifully published game.

For those who are not convinced to participate in the convention, the gallery: photos.app.goo.gl/KRjHfsMU2STzcY… If you have any questions, feel free to write: [email protected]

And so it begins - the countdown to the largest wargames convention in Poland. Everyone is welcome. 4 days of gaming in comfortable conditions and a great atmosphere! Reserve your time and come! More details: fb.me/e/5Co2bPrC6

It was an amazing experience, kids can give a completely different perspective on war games and their usefulness. All this as part of my institution's participation in The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity! facebook.com/share/p/1Z2YAq…
Today I received a package from Compass Games containing Engine Thieves, which tells an interesting story, incidentally adapted into a classic movie. I am incredibly curious about this game.

I just opened a package from Cube4Me and inside is a lot of wooden goods, perfect for use in wargaming education.

If you haven't supported yet, please take an interest in this project: gamefound.com/pl/projects/po… Race to Berlin is a unique erea control game with great mechanics and logistics in the background. My dear friend Krzysztof Dytczak really designed it cleverly.
