There was over 100K infants who STARVED to death in the span of a couple months in Sudan and the world didn’t bat an eye because African suffering and starvation is the norm to them. They don’t see Black people as worthy of outrage and action.

27 years ago today, we lost the great Djibril Diop Mambéty. His two features, Touki Bouki (1973) and Hyènes (1992), contain some of the most beautiful shots to ever grace our screens, and we've compiled some of our favourites (as well as the director's cameo in Hyènes). Enjoy!
transmute this anxious retrograde energy into vulnerability and honesty that encourages growth and closeness
For the last 8 months I've been working on an investigative piece for DJ Mag about the effects of phones on the dancefloor and the various solutions to countering them. You'll get that real soon
more body movement
I would never blame myself for "blindly trusting" someone I view as a friend and them taking advantage of it. Vulnerability is a toss-up, and a part of friendship. What you decide to do with it is your issue, not mine.
In a generation addicted to shortcuts, I think it’s so important for creatives with careers in other fields to share their journeys. That “Fuck School” or “Fuck a 9-5” mindset is honestly so detrimental to our youth.

Black queer parties for me! I work in nightlife & also work non queer parties, so I be seeing things. I find that at Black queer parties ppl dance even if they don’t know the music, the straights be standing still a lot of time. Now Black queer Caribbean parties, you will be 🥵
The only parties in London where I consistently see Black people really dancing are soca parties. No awkward stares, no one standing still just pure joy.
