They say you will always remember your first. Last night, I got to issue my first severe thunderstorm warnings of my NWS career! I then proceeded to continue watching radar and issuing warnings until 2 AM last night! 😁
This is a strange race this year. I'm just hoping Hunter-Reay can continue to pick up spots and have a chance at the end. #Indy500

Discrete tornado-producing supercells, derecho with a textbook bookend vortex & rear inflow jet development, MCS-supercell mergers... this is one of the most meteorologically impressive radar loops I've put together.
Absolutely the craziest storms I have seen up in ND in my lifetime.
Peak gust yesterday and today. Some areas had an hour or more of 60 mph + wind associated with mesoscale convective vortex. Sunrise will likely reveal the extend of the damages. Rare meteorological event. #ndwx #mnwx #derecho
I am really glad to be at home in ND tonight north of the derecho and not in front of it. What a crazy night, glad I didn't go out chasing today. Staying ahead of that line of storms would have been crazyyy.
