65-ish retired husband, bookseller, hobbyist musician ... still here because it's the best place to see what the wackos on either side are thinking.
Elon Musk: The team could see me sleeping on the floor, so they knew I was there, and that made a huge difference. “For a while I was just sleeping under my desk, which is out in the open in the factory for an important reason. It was damn uncomfortable sleeping on that floor.…
Public broadcasting isn’t just programming—it’s a public trust. It delivers facts over fear, nuance over noise, and culture without a price tag. In a media landscape saturated by profit motives and partisan spin, public broadcasting remains one of the last bastions of journalism…
Why do say one "invests in" a company, when really they give their money to someone ELSE who already owns it in hopes of selling it later themselves at a profit. They're really hoping the company will invest in THEM, in a way.
Kind of what you get when you choose NOT to have a single, centralized, national health insurance program for those who need financial assistance. Can't enroll twice if there's not two choices.
SO, tariffs our own businesses would pay on a country we don't actually purchase too much from is supposed to make Putin change his mind on Ukraine ? And we'll wait another two months to see how well that pans out ? Sad. Sadly sad.
So, as I gather from the ads and the government policies encouraging work, we're all supposed to now work at Amazon to afford to buy stuff on Amazon ?
Okay, the Dems "ignoring the Epstein List" was a huge campaign play for MAGA. Now it's seeming they ignored it because it likely doesn't actually exist. SO, will MAGA feel scammed about the election, or are they simply going to say that some bigger powers are still at play ?
Nice to see we're spending $85 million to move an old Space Shuttle to a new spot halfway across the country, thanks to 'my' Texas Senators. Doesn't seem as important as food, housing or medicine in a budget.
As someone with that ability, reading @BillMaher in almost anyone else's voice makes it soooo much more palatable. It was the same with Limbaugh, Franken and a few others who seem to have/had a delivery which made their message even more polarizing.
I need to see the names of the owners of all the companies, and which party they have been supporting (if any) for the last several election cycles, both locally & nationally. I don't care who the laborers are, they just wanted a job, ffs. The ones HIRING are the bad guys.
Can only reload the 'shield' so fast ... the obvious strategy is simply overwhelming it, right ? There's a reason "impenetrable force field" ISN'T a Sci-Fi trope, but someone believing erroneously in one IS.
As someone in favor of an orderly society, I'm usually not outraged simply by deployment of law officers or soldiers in an effort to keep things from becoming dangerous to non-violent participants on EITHER side of the line. But then there's Kent State to remember.
139,000 added jobs in May and they’re all going to “native-born Americans.” This is critical and it’s what America voted for.
As someone who by reflex reads "BBB" as "Better Business Bureau" ... well, you can see the problem with the current news cycle, LOL.
I try and hum a chorus of 'Que Sera, Sera' now and then to break up the routine, but ... yup !
“It is what it is.” The only survival mantra available these days!
