We had a great day showcasing the Dog Unit and other specialisms at @DenbighHigh last week. It was great to talk about what the teams do, to help protect our community 🐶

PD Hector was at it again, this time assisting in locating 2 vulnerable people that run away in Cambridgeshire. PD Hector had tracked them from the last sighting and found them in a very rural area. With the help of local cops they were taken to get the medical help they needed.

We hosted the Region Trials last week. It was a fantastic event. Congrats to all the teams who took part and well done to PC Nik Lofthouse and PD Adam who won overall 🏆 🐾

Congratulations to our newest Firearms Support Dog who along with his handler completed an intensive course with Derbyshire Constabulary. PD Armour with handler PC Bond will be out supporting our Armed Policing Unit in addition to their normal duties.

TPD Xena is on her Initial course learning how to indicate on discarded property - a vital skill to allow our dogs to locate crucial evidence. You can see her freeze and stare when she has found the scent, patiently waiting for her reward. Great job Xena.
Join us in wishing these teams well. We have five new police dogs in training. We will let you know how TPDs Annie, Hector, Xena, Shadow and Mac and their handlers are getting on in the coming weeks on their General Purpose Initial Course.

In the early hours PD Armour was deployed to a concern for welfare for a person. They tracked in difficult muddy, wet and windy conditions and located the person safe and well. Him and his handler then enjoyed an unplanned NYD swim. #notjustcrime
