We joyfully announce that early this morning Pope Leo XIV appointed Most Reverend Daniel E. Garcia as the sixth bishop of the Diocese of Austin. Bishop Garcia, a native of our diocese, currently serves as the bishop of Monterey, California. We look forward to welcoming him home.
