Australian Society for Mechanobiology (AuSMB)
@AuSMBSoc
The Australian Society for MechanoBiology (AuSMB) represents researchers that are interested in understanding how physical forces affect cell/tissue behaviour.
We are excited to announce that AuSMB will be supporting travel to the upcoming International Symposium on Mechanobiology in Tainan, Taiwan (1-3 November 2024). tsmb.org.tw/en/Meeting/Mee…
Finally out on the press our method to probe cellular mechanosensitivity by either applying a controlled pressure or indentation. This allows decoupling mechanosensing contributions from the plasma membrane and the underlying cortex doi.org/10.1038/s41592…
Proud supervisory moment! Congrats to my PhD student, Austin Lai, for receiving the Paul Korner Medal from @BakerResearchAu for his discovery-based research on endothelial mechanobiology. Well done, Austin!🎓🏅#PhDSuccess @ResearchRMIT @MechanoBio_RMIT
Excited to share that PhD candidate, Austin Lai, is the recipient of the prestigious Paul Korner Medal in the field of discovery research. This outstanding achievement award, named after one of our former Directors, recognises excellence in student scholarship @SBaratchi

As the annual meeting closes we thank the organisers led by the wonderful @SBaratchi and say a big congrats to all our award winners: ECR best talk: Lennart Kuck @KuckLennart Student best talk: Shin Wei Chong @shinwei_chong and Poster award: Shirin Nour.
The first paper from Young Lab @nano_jenn @AveryRuiSun ! Very smart way to study the roles of ECM composition vs. Stiffness for any cells. Another awesome platform for the #mechanobiology toolbox list! @ASBTE1 @MatrixBioANZ @AuSMBSoc
Excited to share the lab’s very first pre-print (!!) where we describe a new tunable hybrid hydrogel system and discover ECM-specific cues that regulate cardiac aging. Check it out!👇 biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Tweetorial follows... (1/8)
The website for the 7th edition of Nanoengineering for Mechanobiology is now live. A rich list of invited speakers and activities for #mechanobiology enthusiasts. Go to n4m.mechanobiology.eu/2024
