SGSAH funded doctoral researcher in History at UofG (masculinities in Reformation Scotland). Volunteer at GWL and co-founder of Bottoms Up Theatre @BottomsUpT
We've all got different ways to get ready before the show starts - we probably shouldn't do it while on stage though In His Own Image Fringe tickets are through the QR code or at thespaceuk.com!
Our conference programme is live! Come join us for our completely online conference 21-23 August! 😍 engender-academia.com/conference-202…
It's our Peter!! Come see him in our FANTASTIC show this Fringe! 🥰
"Can-Can?! I canny do a can can" Peter Morrison plays Jamie, expert bartender and stand-in actor. Does he really know what's he gotten himself into? In His Own Image Fringe tickets are through the QR code or at thespaceuk.com!
For the past year I have been on the most amazing team organising the ‘Understanding King James VI & I 400 Years On’ conference! (1/3) 🧵
We all loved this conference. Thank you so, so much to the organisers and the speakers and the audiences in person and online. We must do this again and again! A better advertisement for scholarly collegiality I cannot imagine.
Finally, we have the Biographers Roundtable. Laura Stewart talks with Alex Courtney, Steven Reid, Clare Jackson and Steven Veerapen about what inspired them to write about King James, how they feel about the man himself, and how they see scholarship moving forward…
Ashley Brown suggests that the relationship between James and the Scottish universities was ‘an exercise in patience’…once again, there was a high degree of tension!
That's definitely my directing style! Come and see the fantastic collab between my research and my actors' experiences 😍
"Listen, lets take that three hour presentation, and boil it down to a one hour show. They'll love it!" Ashley Brown is In His Own Image's director and Co-Director of Bottoms Up Theatre. She's an expert PhD researcher on masculinities, so you know this is legit. Scan the QR!
It's me! We're super excited to get underway for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 😍 get your tickets now!
Our director is excited to get back to rehearsals this weekend! "We've had a wee break (which has been very refreshing) but I'm excited to get back into the room with the actors and hear from them how they feel the play developed and their reflections on the preview."
Really loved presenting a paper at @BristolUni today on early modern Scottish academics and students! Was part of a fantastic panel 😊

Alasdair is so good in this!! Come see what it's all about! 😍
"Call me Bob the Builder because I have fixed it!" Alasdair Jordan plays Malkie, the Yesterday Men's propman and gig-booker. Always eager to please, but what gets him through the show? In His Own Image Fringe tickets are through the QR code or at thespaceuk.com!
Our amazing Gio!! 😍
"Me play Napoleon? Because of the height?" Giorgio Manzi plays Dale, lovely father and the company's money man. He seems focused, but is everything okay at home? Find our Fringe tickets through the QR code or at the spaceuk.com!
