The way they are justifying this claim is by saying most seniors now receive more deductions than they receive in Social Security income. That is not at all the same thing as SS being tax free. whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/…
Social Security recipients got a political email from SSA dot gov containing a false description of the Big Bill's deduction for seniors: "The new law includes a provision that eliminates federal income taxes on Social Security benefits for most beneficiaries." Not true!
