Israel did not attack with such ferocity while Assad and Iran were in Syria. For Israel, the issue is not the Druze. This is a process of Lebanonization. Israel does not want stability in the region.

Sadly this idea is too widespread. Israel isn't everyone's guardian. It does what it can, and has a special bond with Druze. During Assad, Israel conducted Operation Good Neighbor to assist neighboring Syrian communities. Assad harassed but didn't slaughter the Druze. HTS did.
