Blue Jays relievers Yimi Garcia and Nick Sandlin both had cortisone shots in their elbows this week. Garcia will be down from throwing for two weeks; Sandlin for at least a week. Then they’ll begin ramping back up.

Yimi Garcia recently began experiencing ulnar nerve symptoms in his right elbow while ramping back up from his ankle injury Garcia's shut down from throwing for a couple days and is currently being evaluated by Blue Jays medical staff

Anthony Santander (shoulder) is returning to Florida this weekend to continue his rehab at the Blue Jays player development complex. He remains week-to-week.

Alek Manoah (Tommy John) will throw a simulated game in Dunedin on Saturday. Dunedin Blue Jays are on the road and club wants to better control his pitch count.

Andres Gimenez (ankle) began a running progression in Toronto on Thursday. Blue Jays manager John Schneider says it “went better than expected.”

Daulton Varsho’s (hamstring) rehab will move to triple-A Buffalo on Friday. He’ll be there through the weekend. If all goes well, Varsho could rejoin Blue Jays in Baltimore next week.

Alek Manoah’s next rehab outing will be Sunday with the Dunedin Blue Jays. He’ll be aiming to complete two innings.

Yimi Garcia (ankle) threw a bullpen in Toronto Friday that went well. He’ll throw another in the coming days. Due to the nature of his injury, it’s possible Garcia could return directly to Blue Jays bullpen without going on a rehab assignment.

Daulton Varsho (hamstring) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment on Monday with the Blue Jays FCL team Club will take it day-to-day during his rehab assignment but it’s possible Varsho could rejoin Blue Jays out of the all-star break

Alejandro Kirk has been named to the AL all-star team. It’s the Blue Jays catcher’s second all-star selection. Kirk says, "it was very emotional the first time around. But I think this one’s going to be more special because I’m going to go with my daughter."

Andres Gimenez (left ankle sprain) will be in a walking boot for the next 5-7 days. Blue Jays will evaluate him after that. No return timeline for now.
