I hold the suspicion that there are far more billionaires than what is being commonly reported. Who’s going to know when an exec, a founding partner at a PE fund, or a shrewdly investing actor/singer makes it over 1B? I know of 2 billionaires that are off the Forbes list.

Economic growth means people will grow into higher take brackets, increasing taxes as a % of GDP. You need tax cuts just to keep the tax burden as a share of the economy from increasing. Hence why federal tax revenue % is flat despite multiple tax cuts over the years.
