My MSc supervisor told me that the acknowledgement section is the only place in your research where you get to truly be yourself, and you must make it count. I've been pouring myself into my PhD acknowledgement and I really do hope it sounds like poetry when I'm done.
Recently, I've been digging up strangers' PhD dissertations to read the acknowledgment section. Couple pages of the most sincere and romantic text you'll find about what makes them tick Highly recommend if you want a feel-good read that doesn't require a functional attention span
Not actively , like once in three blue-moons 🥹. But you can catch up with some old works via the link below 👇 wrr.ng/download/adult…

2/14: Empathy is born through experience: Efe hated his father for not providing more. He mocked his dad’s favorite phrase: “Drink water and be happy.” But when he had a child of his own, that shifted. You don’t understand sacrifice until you’ve had to make it yourself.
He texted: "I'm outside." I replied: "Which gate — my heart or my compound?" Lol.
Let me know if you are interested in reading (as a performance) your poems every Friday. Be sure you are ready to be a part of a community.
"Even poetry can be protest. Even reading can be proof."

In short, at "Siyafunda Sonke" readers will gather, usually in a home, bar, or a restaurant to read together. Unlike a book club, Siyafunda Sonke encourage participants to read different books, in companionable quiet. #SiyafundaSonke
Someone should do a deep dive into reading slumps. Why do they happen so often? I never had a "movie watching slump" or a "video game slump". What is it specifically about reading or the culture around reading that makes people not want to engage with it?

selar.com/qdrh. How do you like your poems? Sweet or savory? Ancient or modern? Romantic or heartbreak? Or a mixture of them all? Forgotten Trails is not just an anthology, it's a way of life; The African way of life and the fantasies of a youngin. It's not just a book
Does anyone know any book or media club that has a strong focus on media topics?

Ever had an "I saw you do it so I believed I could, too. So I did" moment?
To read, then, is to practice seeing. — Devin Kelly.
