Tuition fee discourse again in scotland. Any discussion should consider that as a result of the policy we cap places for domestic students, scottish students ending up leaving scotland, and student maintenance is not great. Every decision has consequences.

One thing that I feel we are not perhaps as clear in explaining in teaching as we could be in law is the importance of procedure. There is a temptation to view it as practice related with minimal doctrinal input but it shapes argument in cases and consequently decisions.

At end of the 23/24 marking season , it's obvious this year is going to go down as the year essays in traditional sense became a useless mode of assessment. Much of the academic discourse is driven by elite voices with students capable of using ChatGPT as turbo search engine 🧵
